Kandi Burruss Has Every Right To Match Tamar Braxton’s Energy

Now what did you think about what I said in this week's episode...
Welcome to this week's Blonde Intelligence. I am your host Ms. Roni and I always seek to give you exquisite cranial repertoire. Kandi Burruss doesn’t “go off” for no reason, so when she finally draws a hard line with Tamar Braxton, it’s worth asking what pushed it there. I’m Miss Roni, and I’m unpacking the moment Kandi stops doing polite and starts doing honest: if you keep speaking on me, don’t expect niceties when we cross paths. That tension opens up a bigger conversation about celebrity beef, respect, and why constant commentary can turn into a real threat to someone’s reputation and coins.
I also take it back to where many of us first clocked Kandi: Xscape, ‘90s R&B memories, and that unmistakable tone that makes her voice stand out in any lineup. Then we connect the dots to Real Housewives of Atlanta, where Kandi has repeatedly shown she is not a pushover when people invade her space or come for her name. The key point is simple: a “pretty” voice isn’t the only kind of great voice, and being a strong vocalist doesn’t make anyone the talent police.
From vocal range to artistic interpretation, we get into why uniqueness is a skill, not a flaw, and why some voices can’t be replaced without changing the whole song. I also talk about professionalism, public behavior, and how a pattern of scandals and harsh takes can backfire fast in the music industry and reality TV.
If you like conversations about Kandi Burruss, Tamar Braxton, R&B vocals, and Real Housewives drama with real opinions, subscribe, share this with a friend, and leave a review so more people can find the show. @Kandi @KandiOnline @TamarBraxton
Welcome And The Shock Moment
SPEAKER_00Welcome to this week's Blonde Intelligence. I'm your host, Miss Ronnie, and I always seek to give you exquisite cranial repertoire.
Kandi Steps Up To Tamar
SPEAKER_00This week I want to talk a little bit about how Candy went all the way off on Tamar. And I was surprised to see Candy really like I know, I'm not even gonna say go left, like really step up in her face and let her know what the business was. Because it do seem like what Candy said was true. Every time you look around, Tamar is speaking on Candy. And I'm wondering what the issue is because Candy don't really go after people like that. I was first introduced
Discovering Kandi With Xscape
SPEAKER_00to Candy in Escape on a show on BET called Teen Summit. I remember them because they had on like some cross color outfits, and that was like the end thing right then. And I know Candy had on like a purple cross colors outfit, and I noticed her first. I liked her curly hair. She had some curly hair. I like curly hair. I noticed her first because of her hair, and then because of her voice. She had a very distinct voice, and I remember saying, that's different, but she sounds pretty. Then Candy came out with her song. This was the anthem for everybody around, I would say 98, 99, when I'm out in the club, don't think I'm not. That was the song. So it's like Candy established herself as a solo artist off of that very song right there. It's not the writing of the other songs, but Candy as a solo artist, not as the writer, not as the part of Escape, but as a solo artist with that song, and it was popping. And
Kandi’s Solo Breakout And Impact
SPEAKER_00if you listen to it, her voice is still distinct, but it is a very pretty voice. Then we were introduced to Candy in Housewives, and that was like the really real like the first time that the public got a chance to see Candy, I would say, blow up because she went off on Nene,
Housewives Proof She Won’t Fold
SPEAKER_00she went off on Kim. She went off on Portia. I mean, Candy has a side to her where if you get in her personal space or try to mess with her coins or try to damage her reputation in any type of way, she's gonna get you told. So I don't know people think that Candy is a pushover when it comes to her protection, because Candy has always been the type to speak up for herself. And even Tiny said that when she was pregnant, that her and Candy had a smaller you know, confrontation,
Tamar’s Shots And The Real Issue
SPEAKER_00and Candy kind of slapped up while she was pregnant. So don't think Candy won't get with the with the get with. I'm not entirely sure what the beef between Tamar and Candy is about, but I feel like Tamar is all the way out of line. But when Candy came in with, I don't like that B, I think she a fake ass B, when we see each other, I'm not gonna front with you and speak to you. It's not verbatim what she said. But what she's saying is, if you don't mess with me and you don't like me and you always talking about me, don't expect for me to have niceties when I see you. It's the same energy. Uh who is that? Big Sean. I don't fuck with you. So that's how Candy is feeling. Um, I do see that Tamar speaks a lot on Candy. And the first thing that she is always saying is Candy can't sing. She's the most non-singing person in the industry. And I just want to know why, Tamar, do you feel that way? This lady has surpassed you on many levels, but you always speaking on the way she sings. And I want to know who made you the chief of voices, that you feel so comfortable with trying to slam candy.
Why Kandi’s Voice Stands Out
SPEAKER_00And like I said, I have always thought that Candy had a very unique voice, and it was very memorable, and it was more memorable than what we consider a traditionally pretty voice. So you could put Tamar, and let's just say Fantasia, Kiki Wyatt, Lil Mo, and Coco from SWV in a lineup. Now, all those ladies are talented, every last one of them, and all of them bring something special to the mix. But if you add Candy to the mix, Candy has the most unique voice of all. And Candy really has range. She might not be as strong as Kiki in her range, but Candy has range. And I feel like that with those group of singers, one of them could be interchangeable to you know for all of their music in a certain type of way. They would sound good singing that song. But Candy has a voice that her music is for her, and there's not gonna be anybody going behind her that can do it like her. So when they do give her her lifetime achievement award, I would like to see who they would get to perform for Candy. I could see Jasmine Sullivan, I could see Missy Elliott, I could see uh even Tweet. Those people that have those Layla Hathaway, those deep, non-traditional, beautiful voices. And it's just like art. Art comes in all different forms. So for Tamar to have just a one-level standard of what she considers singing is shows her like lack of range
Art Standards And Professionalism Warnings
SPEAKER_00in even looking at the arts because there's different interpretations to everything. And just because she don't sing like you does not mean that she can't sing. But what really offends me is that you feel Tamar feels that she has the right to even speak to Candy like that on her talent. You're not the talent keeper. So I think that Tamar needs to lay off Candy and stop being unprofessional when you're loud, when you're always in scandals, when you're always speaking about people. Because even the way that you spoke about Tommy, because your guy wanted to go and and be up in her face and other areas. I saw that Tamar got on the uh she was performing somewhere and caught a trash or a skant or something to that effect. What's gonna get Tamar in trouble is her mouth. And what Tamar needs to understand is she's one of very many pretty voices that can be replaced. And all these stupid ass shenanigans that she's pulling and how she's talking about people, you're very unprofessional, and you need to lay off of it before you become a
